HMRC Rates and Allowances 2017

Changes to rates and allowances from 6th April 2017  that will apply to your payroll are listed below:

PAYE Allowances

The PAYE tax threshold will increase from £11,000 to £11,500 per year

The higher rate allowance will increase from  £32,000 to £33,500 per year

Class 1 National Insurance Allowances

Employee’s NI – The primary threshold will increase from £155 to £157 per week
Employer’s NI – The secondary threshold will increase from £156 to £157 per week

Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) – The standard weekly SSP rate will increase from £88.45 to £89.35 per week
Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Pay (SMP, SPP, SAP) – SMP (after the first 6 weeks), SPP and SAP will increase from £139.58 to £140.98 per week
The Student Loan Threshold will increase from £17,495 to £17,775 per year for Plan 1 and £21,000 per year for Plan 2

Apprenticeship Levy – 0.5% of income received from Agency.
